Invest in Well-Trained, Well-Supported First Responders

First responders are the heartbeat of every community. Ward 5 is no different. As a member of the city council, I will support our first responders by pursuing the following:

• Improve training in crisis response, mental health, and de-escalation tactics.

• Increase funding for fire and emergency medical services to reduce response times.

• Ensure law enforcement has the right resources without over-policing communities.

• Support community policing efforts to build trust between officers and residents.

A strong city needs strong first responders. We must equip police, firefighters, and EMTs with the right training and resources to serve our community effectively.
