Modern Technology to Make Hyattsville More Efficient
As a retired officer of United States Space Force, I know first hand the pivotal role technology plays in our everyday lives. I believe that by investing in technology, we can make our city safer and more connected. Furthermore, technology enhances accessibility. I recently went to an apple store. I was approached by a deaf gentleman who used and iPad as a medium to communicate with me. There was a lady who was capable of translating ASL in real time. Our transaction was seamless. Let's adopt these accessible solutions to everyday life. Let’s use smart, data-driven solutions to protect, enhance and connect our community.
My approach to embracing modern technology to make Hyattsville safer and more efficient includes:
-
Installing smart street lighting and security cameras in high-risk areas.
-
Using real-time data and analytics to identify crime patterns and allocate resources.
-
Using AI "talk to text" solutions for intake forms
-
Language translation devices when an interpreter is not avalilable
-
Improving emergency response coordination with better technology integration.
-
Expand online city services so residents can report issues and access information easily.
